The Suicide Prevention and Crisis Service in Ithaca has been established 50 years and counting. This organization provides a listening ear to anyone who is struggling with any problem in the Ithaca community. In addition, they provide free individual appointments, free coaching on mental health and suicide prevention methods as well as offering an After-Trauma Services program to anyone who is coping with trauma or affected by a trauma incident(s).
The Suicide Prevention and Crisis Service contributes to diminishing the stigma of mental illness. This organization is looking to support a new education program that would help teens understand mental health and wellness while informing them where they can receive help.
